All schools in Pakistan have been ordered for closure since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan, from March 2020. Since then, students have been maintaining their education via online classes and e-learning strategies. The head of the committee claims that online classes have proved to be ineffective, and that the government has not handled the situation correctly. Likewise, the All Pakistan Private School Federation is pressuring for the reopening of schools from August 15th. Education Minister Claims Schools Will Not Open Before September 15thHowever, the Punjab Education Minister, Dr. Murad Rass, announced via twitter that all public and private schools in Pakistan will open from September 15th, provided that the COVID-19 pandemic situation would be under control in the province. In case of the re-opening of public and private schools from September 15th, all coronavirus related SOPs will be followed in the schools and educational institutions. Despite this announcement, the All Pakistan Private School Federation has demanded the government to reopen the school from August 15. According to the central president of the All Pakistan Private School Federation, if permission is not granted to reopen the school, they would reopen the private schools across the country on their own terms. So far, the Pakistani government education minister has not agreed to these terms. and Punjab Education Minister Dr. Murad Ross categorically refuted the news regarding reopening of the schools on August 15.
